Walking Groups

Our walking groups are inclusive of all abilities and allow you to go at a comfortable speed, whether you use poles, a stick, or a walker. Wheelchair users are also encouraged to join for company. Carers are warmly invited, too. If you’d prefer not to walk, simply join us afterward for coffee and a chat—you’re always welcome.

BENEFITS

Why Join Our Walking Groups

Walking offers numerous benefits for individuals with Parkinson’s disease, supporting both physical and mental well-being. Regular walking helps improve balance, coordination, and muscle strength, which can reduce the risk of falls and improve mobility. It can also boost cardiovascular health, energy levels, and flexibility, making daily activities easier.

Walking in a group provides social support, connection, and motivation, enhancing mood and reducing feelings of isolation. Whether it’s a gentle stroll or a paced walk, being active helps manage symptoms and promotes a healthier, more positive lifestyle.
